Marine Science Expedition - 28th September to 4th October

Join the crew of the Toftevaag for a scientific expedition in the Balearic Sea. We will be navigating the waters around Menorca in search of dolphins, whales, turtles, seabirds and large pelagic fish species. On this 6 day cruise you will learn to collect scientific data, identify different species and sail a classic ship, among other things. Enjoy delicious sustainable meals and make a difference in the world of marine conservation. The data you help collect will go directly towards the management of the marine protected areas we explore.

his expedition has a strong focus on fighting plastic pollution. Along with Spain's citizen science clean-up initiative, Proyecto Libera, we will be studying marine litter, its effects on wildlife and the presence of microplastics in the water. Part of the project will involve community outreach, and we will have our ship open to the public as a “floating exhibition” on marine litter and biodiversity.

This is a great opportunity to learn about marine conservation and Mediterranean species. For experts or science students, it’s a chance to find out more about your subject of choice or gain university credits.
