Coastal Action Expedition - 8th June to 14th June

Coastal Action Expedition - 8th June to 14th June

During this week, our ancient Norwegian vessel will be your home away from home. The ship will not sail, but it will be moored in the pristine natural bay of Cabrera National Park – the Balearic’s hidden treasure and a stunning location. With the ship as your base, you will be free to explore the beautiful surroundings, both by foot and with our zodiac motorboat.  With the ship as our base, we will be conducting daily coastal conservation activities with our RHIB Iruka, including microplastic and marine litter sampling, line transects and underwater filming of the unique Mediterranean habitats. Part of the project will involve community outreach, and we will have our ship open to the public as a “floating exhibition” on marine litter and biodiversity.

This expedition will also give you plenty of time to explore the island, both underwater and on the ground: you can hike the unique and ancient nature trails dotted with forts and old lighthouses and spectacular views, jump in the water and snorkel along the island’s coves and caves. If the weather and time permits, you can even jump in a kayak to explore the surrounding waters. The food is included in the price and the menu will be local, organic and sustainable.
